Residences are the organisations that make the artistic climate work. As a place of production, research and experiment, a platform for presentations and activities and studio and home to (inter) national guests.
Art course finds guest studio
More and more, guest studios and art courses know how to find each other. Students can work in a guest studio in a different environment, they can work there in a concentrated manner on a project, make use of specific facilities, and build up experience. Also, the guest studios can broaden their function through collaboration with academies and high schools.

A.I.R-'Agonism'
Hyunjin Kim (Seoul, South Korea) was the first participant at the research and curator-in-residence program of the van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven. Young international curators are invited to stay 6 months up to two years to develop new projects starting from the collection of the museum. Trans Artists asked ms. Kim about her motivs and experience as curator-in-residence.
Tussen wijk en wereld in Het Domein
Onder de naam Guestroom nodigt Museum Het Domein Sittard sinds 2005 instellingen uit om een presentatie te verzorgen. Ze zijn bij het museum te gast. We kiezen voor instellingen waarmee het museum zich verwant voelt, of voor instellingen met een (inter)nationale opdracht of werking die in de regio echter te weinig zichtbaar zijn.

Marres is in ontwikkeling. We willen de overgecodeerde werkelijkheid van een presentatie-instelling ter discussie stellen en de kernfunctie - de presentatie - verrijken met inzichten die niet eenduidig door de actualiteit worden gevoed. De artist-in-residence formule kan een van de manieren zijn om tegemoet te komen aan de wens om binnen een presentatie-instelling artistiek onderzoek een plek te geven en nieuwe vormen van artistieke productie op gang te brengen.
