Computers, digital video editing, reference library. The Waag building, which houses the Society, has a Media lab, a monumental conference theatre - the 17th century Theatrum Anatomicum - and a restaurant-cafe in which the Reading Table for Old and New Media is located.
Voorwaarden
AIR proposals should preferably be about research in which open source software is used, and tools that are available for further use. Research projects with an interdisciplinary characters are preferred. Residence-proposals will be reviewed by an internal commission. The assessment will be based on the research proposal with a workplan in which the research issues, general and technical requirements and the end product are described. The request should also include a cv with documentation of previous projects. The last stage of the assessment consists of an interview.
Profiel
Waag Society has a residence programme in which artists, theoreticians and developers are invited to work on projects in the medialab for a period of up to six months. Purpose of the AIR programme is to enhance the exchange of expertise by artists and developers in the field of collaboration and creativity. Waag Society offers artists and researchers the possibility to work on projects in its medialab. It has to concern projects that have a link with Waag Society's research programmes and with the theme of the Connected! programme: the making of a live art exchange. Central to this are the artistic idea, innovation and cooperation.
