Arte 2.0 Vocento

VOCENTO and ARCOmadrid invite proposals for innovative and experimental online platforms and effective web tools to foster and stimulate the presence, exhibition, communication and management of art on the Internet. The selected proposal will be awarded with a production budget of 15,000 euros (taxes included) to realize the project. The competition wishes to encourage research in the field of social technologies and artistic practice, and more specifically to identify current needs and provide suitable solutions for art galleries in the context of the Internet.

The Abraaj Capital Art Prize

The Abraaj Capital Art Prize, established by the Dubai-based private equity firm Abraaj Capital, is expanding the number of winners to five from three for 2011 to offer more contemporary artists from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia (MENASA) the opportunity to benefit from the resources and global recognition the prize offers. In a second change to the structure of the prize, artists will be able to submit proposals themselves. An internationally recognised curator will be assigned to the artists following their acceptance. The winning projects will become part of the Abraaj Capital Corporate Collection.

LUMEN_EX Digital Art Awards

The University of Extremadura, Spain, through the Vice-Chancellor of University Extension, announces the first edition of LUMEN_EX 2010, Digital Art Awards. Being sensitive to the evolution of the new digital culture, the UEx is now entering a new section of its art collection to promote and convene the first international Digital Art Awards, LUMEN_EX 2010, directed by Jose Ramon Alcala and selected by a prestigious jury.

International Architecture Competition: Nova UGM / New Maribor Art Gallery

The Municipality of Maribor under supervision of UIA (Union Internationale des Architectes, Paris) calls for the international, public, anonymous architecture competition for the new building of the UGM / Maribor Art Gallery. With this competition the UGM and Municipality of Maribor would like to acquire architecture proposal for the building, which will become the leading contemporary cultural centre, the engine of the urban regeneration of the Drava embankment and an example of sustainable architectural planning. The new building is planned to be completed by 2012, when Maribor will hold the title 'European Capital of Culture'.

International Competition for the Stavanger Region's New Concert Hall

Solo artists and collaborating groups are invited to take part in an international pre-qualifying round for a lighting project in the New Concert Hall in Stavanger, Norway, to be completed in 2012. The Art Committee is seeking candidates to take part in a limited competition for a significant indoor art project, where light is an important premise.

Miniprint Finland 2010

Graphic Artist Association of Lahti and Lahti Art Museum are inviting artists to participate in the 7th International Miniprint Finland 2010 miniature graphics triennial. Motif and the methods of the printed artworks are free. Only the size of the prints is restricted: 17 x 20 cm maximum, and in case printed on 3-dimensional material, the depth can reach 5 cm.
