The Lower East Side Tenement museum
The Lower East Side Tenement Museum hosts a Digital Artists in Residence Program (DARP). The Museum awards one residency to an artist or team of artists. During the residency, the artist(s) will complete an original, web-based project that explores an aspect of the contemporary immigrant experience in New York City.

Artists may use the Museums library, as well as its collections of historic artifacts and images. However, access to these materials will only be granted as is deemed necessary and artists should carefully detail proposed uses of the collections in their proposals.
- Residencies last for six months and are virtual.
Like the Smell of Fresh Concrete?
Like the smell of fresh concrete? Then you'll be excited by the artist in residence programme of the Virtual Museum at the Southern Axis of Amsterdam, in Dutch called 'Zuidas'. This new booming commercial center between the City and Schiphol International Airport is now being constructed. Scaffolded skyscrapers appear next to abandoned parking lots. There's no social structure yet, no points of orientation, no coherence. But lots of expectations. Quite a challenge for artists, staying and working here, in this uncanny cityscape.

In the past months, six artists have lived and worked here in order to respond to developments in the area:
- installation artist André van Bergen
- Bureau LOLA Landscape Architects
- performance artist Anat Stainberg
- draughtsman-designer Ingo Giezendammer
- filmmakers Nina Fischer & Maroan el Sani
- sound artist Geert-Jan Hobijn
For 2008 a new residency program is scheduled. So watch out for announcements on this website!
Mobile Museum
The Mobile Museum creates a mobile space for dialogue about the collections housed in Pittsburghs museums, collecting and connecting viewers feedback and insights at each location it visits. As an object intended to generate wonder and conversation, the MM carries an individual artists effort to understand a collection or idea.

Artists can send in their project proposal.
The Mobile MuseumHow to respect the Will of Isabella Stewart Gardner?
In her will Isabella Stewart Gardner (1840-1924) had stipulated that nothing could be moved or significantly altered in the permanent collection of her museum. But what if you're invited now as an artist-in-residence at the Gardner Museum, with the intention to build on this legacy? Artist Elain Reichek found a clever and respectful way of avoiding by creating a virtual exhibition, launching:

Unlike any previous show at the Gardner museum, madamimadam is a virtual exhibition. Working when the galleries were closed to the public, Elaine Reichek briefly installed her samplers among the works in the Gardner's permanent collection. This temporary installation that can only be seen through Reichek's digital project. In this virtual exhibition the artist subtly and respectfully overcomes restrictions in Mrs. Gardner's will.

Exploratorium
They are housed in a large warehouse-like building with few white walls, a small, 130-seat theater, and a flexible exhibition floor. The museum floor features hundreds of interactive exhibits that explore seeing, sound and hearing, the physical world, mind and learning, and the life sciences.

They are looking for artists to create artworks, installations, films, and performances that can augment large-scale thematically-based exhibitions. These projects can be residencies or workshops. These opportunities come with stipends.
