Description
The Foundation's purpose is to provide a quiet haven where artists may pursue their creative endeavors without pressure to produce while they are in residence.

Technical Information
In addition to the artists "casitas", the grounds of the Foundation include the Commons House, the Library and the Main House. Meeting Space, a community kitchen and laundry facilities are available in the Commons House. Shops, galleries and restaurants are walking-distance from the Wurlitzer Foundation.
Accommodation Information
The campus of the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation consists of eleven artist residency "casitas" (3 for visual artists, 3 for composers, 5 for literary artists). They are single-occupancy, furnished homes.
Paid by host
Accommodation, studio. Bicycles are provided for residents who wish to have one.
Paid by artist
Individual travelling expenses, working material. Artists are responsible for purchasing and preparing their own meals.
Location
Located on eighteen acres in the heart of Taos, New Mexico, a four-hundred-year-old multicultural community.

Application Criteria
Grants are awarded to selected artists regardless of age , sex, or sexual preference, religion, or ethnic origin. Selection is based upon review of the application, examples of work and references.
